Financial Overview

Exciting times are ahead for Bethel Christian School — full of growth, expansion, and opportunity! Our goal is to have a school that glorifies God in all its personnel, programs, and facilities.

In 2006, Bethel Christian School entered into its first major capital campaign, the Believing God For $50,000 Campaign. The goal was reached in a one-year period, launching Bethel Christian School into a period of unprecedented growth.

How the First $50,000 Was Spent

• Technology Expansion

As part of the school’s expansion of the technology program, sixteen new Dell computers with wireless capabilities and “nanny guard” as well as sixteen new office chairs were purchased for the newly renovated computer lab.

A school web site – www.bethel-christian.com – was created and is being developed for greater communication with the Bethel Christian family and the surrounding communities. Parents and students can mail any teacher or staff member using the teacher’s first name initial and his or her last name@bethel-christian.com. The site includes a news segment, events calendar, lunch menus, and enrollment information.

• Educator Competitiveness

To create greater competitiveness in the educator market, a minimum 10% salary increase was awarded to faculty and staff who had served as least one complete school year at Bethel Christian. Due to increased enrollment, three new full-time pre-K, elementary, and high school teaching positions and two new part-time art and library positions were created. Funding for all five new positions is provided by annual tuition.

• New Childcare Facility

Seed money was used to create a nursery for six-week-old infants through 2-year-olds. The program is a self-sustaining entity and is financially supported by the participating families.

• Building and Grounds

A banister was built at the gymnasium entrance, and exterior doors and locks were replaced in two buildings.
General repairs were made to the air conditioning, water system, and cafeteria ice maker.

Gymnasium renovation pricing for a new air condition system, new stage curtain, and roof resurfacing are being secured.

Bethel Christian School has set a second financial goal to raise another $50,000 during 2007-2008.
